Privacy Policy

Fawn Reader is designed to be a private reading app. This page summarizes how the app handles your data. A final legal policy will accompany the App Store release.

What stays on your device

Feeds, categories, bookmarks, highlights, reading state, and cached article content are stored locally in the app's database. Where available and enabled, this data syncs between your Apple devices via iCloud.

What requires the network

To bring you articles, Fawn Reader must contact the RSS, Atom, and JSON feed endpoints you subscribe to. Those servers are operated by their respective publishers, not by Fawn Reader.

External services

Optional integrations with services such as Inoreader are strictly opt-in. Authentication uses OAuth 2.0 Bearer tokens, stored in the iOS/macOS Keychain and scoped to the provider you connected. Tokens are used only to call that provider's API.
